Amsterdam, April 2002 LG10 was commissioned by a leading Asian telecom operator to perform a feasibility study detailing finance and corporate options for expansion of operations into the international long distance (ILD) telephony market. The operator, a major player in fixed wire, mobile and message transmission telephony, is seeking competitive advantage in the newly deregulated domestic ILD market through the use of European-based satellite telephony bandwidth.
The study involved the analysis and recommendation of appropriate structured finance, corporate and tax strategies to establish local presence within the Netherlands, and the available options to secure USD $10 million in commercial loans to fund their expansion plans.
LG10 provided the operator insight into multi-entity corporate constructions with beneficial tax and accounting advantages, as well as a portfolio of financial mechanisms to leverage their equity, cash and fixed assets to secure loans on attractive terms.
